Take Action:

Help ban prairie dog shooting!

WildEarth Guardians is trying to obtain a prairie dog shooting ban in Colorado. In response, the NRA and prairie dog shooters are mobilizing big-time. We need your help.

The Colorado Wildlife Commission is meeting in Grand Junction next Thursday (May 1), and they will consider whether to ban all prairie dog shooting in Colorado. Please sign the online petition (very easy), send an email to the commissioners (very easy), and - if you are in the Grand Junction area - attend the meeting. Feel free to copy and paste from the alert liberally.

WildEarth is trying to walk a fine line and focus on the issue of prairie dog shooting. Specifically, they are arguing that under Colorado law, prairie dog shooting cannot be considered hunting and therefore violates cruelty laws. It is very important to not go into general anti-hunting rants in comments to the commissioners as that will immediately turn them off. Without hesitation, though, everyone should sign this petition here
