Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Meeting last night in Denver. The Rocky Mountain Animal Defense staff and board are very appreciative of the time, energy and creative thought that the group put into helping us plan for the next 15+ years of grassroots animal advocacy in Colorado.

But the work has just begun. We still need YOUR HELP in determining how RMAD can be more effective in helping to eliminate the human-imposed suffering of animals in Colorado and beyond. Will you please take the time to answer this brief survey below? It will be a big help for us in understanding how RMAD fits into both the local, regional and national AR movement.

When you think about RMAD acting as a strong and relevant animal rights organization, how could/should we be operating in each of the following areas:

1) Campaigns/Program Areas (more information on RMAD programs can be found here).

2) Volunteer Program (the RMAD volunteer form can be found here for examples of how you can be involved).

3) Fundraising Strategies

4) Staff/Leadership Structure (staff and board info can be found here).

5) Strategy (perhaps the most important area for discussion. What approach works best/worst? Education? Outreach? Protest?).

6) Long-term Sustainability/Recruitment:

7) Technology/Web

You may simply respond to this edition or eNews with your answers, or send them to info@rmad.org. Thank you for taking the time to do this, and for helping to shape the future of animal rights in Colorado and beyond. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Volunteer Opportunities

THINK GLOBAL Humane Education Speakers: RMAD's THINK GLOBAL Humane Education Program is a network of volunteers who deliver talks to school groups, social clubs, churches and other organizations. Potential speakers will be provided with training (to be offered in both Denver and Boulder). More information and a volunteer form here.

Letter writers: We’ve assembled a team of letter writers to address issues in the local ( Colorado) media. As needs arise, we will send out a form e-mail that includes the pertinent media, names and addresses, tips, background information, etc.—making it as easy as possible for you to lend your voice on behalf of animals.

Vegetarian outreach: Help distribute RMAD’s 32-page, full-color guide to vegetarian living in Colorado, Compassionate Living. If interested, please e-mail volunteer@rmad.org.

Check out RMAD’s online volunteer form and let us know about yourself and where your interests lie.
