RMAD’s Second Annual Vegan Pie Party was againa huge success, due entirely to the culinary talents of RMAD’s fantastic volunteers. The turnout was even better than last year, and there was enough pie, cake, cupcakes, cookies, dairy-free ice cream and beyond for everyone to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to indulge, to everyone who helped out, and especially to Ashley Mills and Kellie Cremer for their extra efforts.

We’ve uploaded some photos of the event here. Also, if you have photos of RMAD events past and present, we’d love to post them. If you’d like to share, please e-mail us, and be sure to explain what type of credit is required (if any), and the name and date of the event (if possible).

Your help needed! We’re ramping up efforts for our circus campaign, and the RMAD letter-writing team is working to spread the message through local media. Now is the time to encourage the public to build family tradition around compassion, not cruelty. If you know of an event in the Denver area that is an affordable, enjoyable alternative to circuses with animal acts, please let us know as soon as possible.

Things are extremely busy in the RMAD office. What we’re working on right now: the second printing of Compassionate Living, the first printing of THiNK! (veg guide for teens), the Greenwood Village coyote trapping issue, a prairie dog relocation, a Boulder-based open space prairie dog project, a fantastic interactive Web site, assisting the public with numerous requests for help, maintaining eight Web sites and much more.

On top of all this, our small staff handles all the tasks required to keep our organization running—writing grants for current and future projects, paying the bills, bookkeeping, filing our taxes, the occasional fundraising effort, sharpening our pencils and, again, so much more.

It’s hard work, and there’s a lot of it. If you haven’t made a contribution to Colorado’s only all-animal advocacy organization, please do! You can follow this link, call the RMAD office, or mail a donation to the address at right. Please contact us with any questions.
