Welcome back! And sorry for the silence lately. We’ve had quite a few changes in the organization of late, so we thought it best to bring you up to speed.
First of all, we’re here and we’re feisty as ever.
As many of you know, key staffer Chris Jones has moved to Portland, Oregon. He’s doing well and is still involved with RMAD electronically and support-wise, but has handed off the bulk of his programmatic and administrative duties. Lynne Sprague has returned to full-time teaching and has stepped aside as RMAD director, but will remain vital to the organization as an active board member. A recent addition to the RMAD board is RMAD volunteer, VegColorado columnist and health guru Ryan Andrews. Ryan and RMAD are excited about the partnership and the projects that will result. Be sure to check out his column, Ask Ryan!, at VegColorado.com.
Mike Stabler has been hired to serve as staff during this transition. Mike has been involved with the organization virtually from the start. For instance, the first RMAD newsletter has an article that he wrote suggesting ways to be better animal advocates. He has been a vegetarian since about 1985, has been a Sierra Club member since high school, and has been active with Earth First!, WildEarth Guardians and the Prairie Dog Coalition, to name a few. Professionally he has a business management background, primarily working with non-profits.
With limited hours available, Mike is focusing on keeping supporters in the know about issues, and working with the RMAD board to ensure that animals in Colorado are benefited by RMAD’s programs and projects. He looks forward to working with you and the animals, and would love to hear from you about issues that are at the forefront of your hearts and minds right now. Feel free to e-mail Mike or call the RMAD office at 303-449-4422
Thanks a lot, and thanks for sticking with us!
