RMAD's program work covers a broad range of issues and involves public education, activist mobilization, on-the-ground assistance to animals in need, work in the legal and legislative arenas, or any combination thereof. Vegetarianism
The primary focus of RMAD's Vegetarian Program is to introduce the public to a vegetarian (vegan) diet through outreach, education, events and demonstrations. The latest tools RMAD has developed include a 32-page, full-color publication, Compassionate Living – A Colorado Guide to Vegetarianism; THiNK! – An Intro to Vegetarianism for Teens; and Your Diet and the Environment, a flyer-style overview of the relationship between diet, climate change and environmental degradation.

Compassionate Living
is now in its second printing and has received glowing praise from advocates and organizations alike, both locally and nationally. THiNK! is slated for production in the fall of 2007.

RMAD also recently debuted VegColorado.com, which expands upon the information provided in Compassionate Living.

As well, RMAD’s HEALTH program hosts monthly potlucks, “meet-ups,” picnics and other events to introduce the public to a vegetarian diet while exposing it to the bigger-picture issues related to dietary choices.

Prairie Wildlife
RMAD’s Prairie Wildlife Program is involved at every level of prairie dog advocacy, from helping relocate imperiled animals to pursuing cutting-edge solutions.

In 2007, RMAD redesigned PrairieWatch.org, our interactive online database of prairie dog colonies. The site, now using Google Maps, allows advocates and citizens to identify threats facing prairie dogs, and enables advocates to monitor human activity around colony sites. This site also serves as a forum for volunteers who want to network in order to help prairie wildlife.
