Boulder Wildlife

The good news is that Boulder City Council rejected the weak, staff-recommended variation of the wildlife ordinance and voted for the council-directed ordinance, which mostly reflects the RMAD approach -- with some modifications.

The bad news is they lowered the waiting period to kill prairie dogs from 12 to only 6 months, and they didn't pass most of our suggested modifications to it. We also were dealing with more wildlife-friendly city council members at this meeting than we likely will be at the third and final reading (most likely Jan. 18). We'll continue working behind the scenes to strengthen and enhance the ordinance!

Please also plan to attend the Boulder city council meeting JANUARY 18 (tentative date). We will e-mail again as we confirm details.

Thank you,
Jill Bielawski

RMAD Events:

The RMAD Calendar (http://rmad.org/calendar.html) is full of great events coming up and all summer long! Work parties, fairs, meetings, and more. These events are great ways to get involved with RMAD and helping animals in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Stock Show Protest

January 15th
11A-2 p.m.

National Western Complex, Denver.

To protest the horrific confinement, torture, and slaughter of 10 billion animals every year in the United States.

We need help with night-time leafletting and demonstrating with our body screen TVs. Please email Chris (chrisj@rmad.org) if you can help out! We'll also need people for other days and nights of the stock show.

We’ll again have some “special guests.”

Dining Out Day

Mark your calendars! January 25th is our second annual 'Dining Out Day' for RMAD.

Once again, we'll be at the fabulous WaterCourse Foods in Denver.

Please join us from 7:30AM till 10PM for wonderful veggie food, good fun, and a great cause!

Other Events:

This section lists events that might be of interest to local Animal Rights supporters. These events may or may not include RMAD people but they are not sponsored or presented by RMAD. Please contact the people listed below for more information.
